WINIT USNJ planned to operate a large online order fulfillment and warehouse distribution center in Linden, New Jersey. The project involved a major logistics facility of approximately 735,000 square feet, with proposed installation of pallet racking systems and associated exit signage and emergency lighting upgrades to support warehouse operations.

Engineering Fire Protection, LLC provided fire code consulting and permit support services to help the client move through the City of Linden approval process. EFP prepared fire sprinkler system and commodity analysis, high-piled storage / life safety drawings, rack structural engineering design and permit forms. EFP also help to conduct in person meetings with the city code official to helped facilitate the building permit application.

The scale of the facility and the proposed rack layout required careful coordination of storage arrangement, egress paths, fire department access, existing ESFR sprinkler protection, exit signage, and emergency lighting. The racking plan identified large storage areas, including VNA rack and double-deep rack configurations, with more than 50,000 pallet positions planned across the facility. EFP’s work helped the client organize the technical documentation, clarify code requirements, support the Certificate of Occupancy and rack installation approval process, and move the fulfillment operation forward with a practical permitting path.
