University Village in Loma Linda, California is a multifamily and mixed-use development with 381 residential units and approximately 732,000 square feet of combined building and parking area. The project includes apartments, commercial and amenity spaces, and an integrated parking structure, with portions extending to six stories. Multiple building sections and changing site elevations create a complex setting for fire protection and life safety design.

Engineering Fire Protection, LLC provides fire sprinkler, standpipe, and fire alarm engineering, together with life safety and building code consulting. EFP’s work addresses system layouts, water supply, hydraulic performance, fire alarm and notification requirements, and coordination with the architectural and electrical teams.

The engineering approach connects the residential, commercial, and parking uses through coordinated system zoning and practical equipment and piping arrangements. Code research and authority coordination help the project team resolve requirements across the building sections and support a consistent fire protection strategy for the development. EFP also provides construction administration, including contractor shop drawing review, site observations, and responses to contractor requests for information (RFIs).
