JW Fulfillment ATL planned to install new warehouse racking systems within a major logistics facility in Ellabell, Georgia to support e-commerce storage and distribution operations. The project involved a large high-piled storage area of approximately 499,200 square feet, with additional business/support space, within a warehouse designed for large-scale product storage and fulfillment.

Engineering Fire Protection, LLC provided fire code consulting and permit support services to help the client move the racking project through the local review process. EFP performed fire sprinkler system and commodity analysis, racking structural engineering drawing/calculations, high-piled storage / life safety drawings, and emergency lighting and exit sign drawings. EFP also supported coordination with the city code official and helped facilitate the building permit and high-piled storage/racking permit process.

The scale of the warehouse and the extensive racking layout required careful coordination of fire protection, egress, fire department access, emergency lighting, exit signage, rack configuration, commodity classification, and existing ESFR sprinkler protection. EFP’s analysis helped demonstrate fire protection and life safety compliance for the proposed high-piled storage arrangement, while the permit drawings provided clear operational and life safety requirements for the racking installation. This helped the client reduce permitting uncertainty, respond to AHJ comments, and move forward with warehouse operations more efficiently.
