Jingstar 3PL planned to operate an online consumer product storage and distribution facility in Carteret, New Jersey. The project involved an existing warehouse of approximately 156,000 square feet, where the tenant proposed to install pallet racking systems to support warehouse operations.

Engineering Fire Protection, LLC provided fire code consulting and permit support services to help the client move through the local approval process. EFP prepared high-piled storage / life safety drawings, lighting design, racking engineering documents, supported the racking permit application, and coordinated with the local code official to facilitate review and approval. EFP also prepared fire sprinkler system and commodity analysis to evaluate whether the existing fire protection system could support the proposed storage configuration.

The project required a coordinated review of the proposed rack layout, storage commodities, egress paths, fire department access, emergency lighting, exit signage, and existing ESFR sprinkler protection. EFP’s work helped demonstrate that the warehouse fire protection features could support the proposed high-piled storage use, while the permit drawings clearly documented the life safety requirements needed for the racking installation. This helped the client reduce permitting uncertainty, respond to jurisdictional expectations, and move forward with warehouse operations more efficiently.
